  35. I can tell you more later, but for now I can tell you that they got rid 
  36. of the alphanumeric paging feature that was in the 78A.  Seems like it 
  37. never caught on with many of the other HT makers.

  64.   Iam considering the purchase of a Kenwood TH-22AT.CAn any one comment on
  65. this model?Iam concerned with any intermod problems, specificaly in the
  66. San Diego , Ca. area.Would I be better off with another brand (ht202) and
  67. forget the extended recieve? Any and all comments welcome as this is my

  95. Well, if you stop to think of it, one of the reasons the Japanese
  96. manufacturers have been able to build lots of HF and VHF gear is 
  97. because they are shipping to worldwide markets.  The Japanese
  98. domestic market has 1,000,000 operators licensed and about half
  99. that number of station license holders.  So, it is arguably the
  100. largest ham market in the world, right?    Ah.......but in Japan,
  101. the 220 MHz band is used by commercial TV broadcasting ..... so,
  102. there is no 220 MHz ham band there.  I believe the same "may" be
  103. true for some European markets (i.e. Sweden?).

  105. So, without a huge market demand for 220MHz gear outside of
  106. Japan (i.e. the USA), I wouldn't look for much more in the way
  107. of new gear coming from  Y/K/I  (IMHO).

  121. I don't think kenwood overlooked the lockout feature for scanning.  In 
  122. their info sheet on the HT, the scanning channel lockout was printed.  
  123. Later Kenwood sent a mod sheet for their info sheets to delete that line 
  124. (with a black pen).  So it looks like kenwood had every intention of 
  125. putting that feature in there, but some how it got left out at the last 
  126. minute.  Just thought I'd let you know.
